A Walk to Briksdalsbreen Glacier
Passing through the bridge at Cleivafossen watertfall, and climbed the serpentine road, we continue our way to Briksdalsbreenn glacier.

somehow climb higher, now the previous section of the serpentine is visible far below. The rise is not annoying, the road is gentle and the mountain air invigorating.

Looking from the bridge back, you can see how we we are high - in the village Briksdalsbre waterfall Volwassen was over my head, and now we're almost at the level of the middle ledge.

Now the tongue of the glacier is fully visible, but it still is more than a kilometer.

Another look back - wonderful views of the almost perfectly semi-circular bowl of the mountain valley.

Start large areas of "mutton foreheads" rocks, smoothed by the movement of ice masses.

Arch formed by two flat boulders brought by the glacier during its movement from the mountains. Stones left here after the ice melted.


In the bed of a river Brixdale effectively scattered pieces of huge rocks.

Finally, we reached the lake, situated at the foot of the glacier Byxgalter.
